To provide emergency, transitional and permanent housing, job training for homeless, and low income families who are interested to work hard in order to improve their lives, and become self-supporting member of our community.
The shelter for the homeless was founded in 2001 by Gabriel F. Ayeni-Oladeinde as a result of people living on streets, local parks and bus stops in Prince George's County. He started by delivering food, blanket and clothing to people in need and spread his mission by referring homeless people in need to existing shelters and transporting them.
The difference between housing stability and homelessness can be resolved on how much we have know about our lease or mortgage document, and how well we can advocate for ourself in negotiating with landlords and lenders. These programs offer several types of housing counseling.
We provide information to tenant in Prince George's, Maryland, Oklahoma and Texas regarding rights and responsibilities according to local landlord /tenant laws. If you are unable to find information call (240) 421-6551. Counselor are available from Monday, Wednesday and Thursday form 12:00 noon - 3:00 pm.
We suggest that if you have any issues of concern you would like to bring up with your landlord, it is wise to communicate in writing, sent certified mail, and keep copies for your records.
Many families find themselves in a homeless situation because of financial money aspect of homelessness. We hold classes for client that cannot balance a budget, or how to repair their credit, and open bank account provide issue on financial independent.
